I LOVE this post from Little Green Notebook. This post was from her blog a few days ago and I had to share it with you. One of her readers created this great chevron rug and I think we should all do the same. Here are the steps.
1. Find a jute rug either at Ikea or Homegoods (they are inexpensive and a good probability of finding one)
2. Start taping off a chevron pattern.
3. Pick out paint colors you like and start on your pattern. You can use just one color or as many as you like. This one has two colors and she is using a dry brush technique. I like the way it comes out.
4. This reader used clear tape to cover the places she left white, just in case of a little spill. Then let it dry and poof a new rug!
The total cost of this rug was about $36 dollars and about 3.5 hours of labor.
This little rug went in a nursery. I can't wait to dream up a space to put mine. What a great idea. Thanks Jenny at LGN. Here is the link to her story.

Romper Bandwagon
Ok I've given in. I really think I like some of these rompers. At first I thought they were just for little kids, but some of these are are really chic and I would definitely wear one!

Vintage Beachwear
Have you ever gone to a vintage shop and found the perfect thing but never actually wanted to wear it? These swimsuits are just the thing. They are so stylish and wonderful that you wouldn't want them hidden away but it's not actually wear worthy. I think these would be so perfect in a beach house or even to add to your mix of photos around the house for the summer months. This would even make a fun summer mantle.

Now for something a bit more refined......
Welcome to Edon Manor, a beautifully designed shoe shop in NYC. The store's creative director is Ryan Korban who discribes this space as "English country library turned chic." I couldn't agree more. The product is displayed so beautifully who wouldn't want to spend all day is this beautiful shop. I love the pops of mint green and grey.

Planters can be really pricey. There are some beautiful options if you are strapped for cash. These wine boxes are usually free at liquor and wine stores, sometimes they just throw them out. If you are not into the wine look, try to paint them or even wrap them with a really great graphic. You don't have to have a lot of money to have great style.
