Cheap Monday!!

I was inspired by President's Day in this little post. I really love federal mirrors. I am using one that I found at the Brooklyn flea market last summer in my living room. They are wonderful little vintage jewelry pieces for the home. In the two pics below they were both painted which would  be a wonderful idea for an inexpenisve find. Please check to see if it is real before you go spray painting it though! Happy President's Day!

Here are plans for our living room and dining room. Its coming together nicely. We are super excited becase the sofa we are getting reupholstered is going to be ready next week! I'll post some pics when we get things all settled and the sofa in place. whoop whoop. Happy Weekend.

I've seen these metalic pigs everywhere including the post below where Thom Filicia used it in a nursery.

Harry Allen Pig Bank $200

If you want one of these and don't have an extra 200 bones to drop on a little adorable pig; Do this:

 1. Get one random toy: Preferable plastic.

2. Get some metalic spraypaint.

3. Sray and done. Presto chango. Very luxurious and quarky metalic gator.

4. Style it on a bookshelf or mantle. It works with all kinds of animals. I think they are really fun. I can't wait to spray paint some toys! (I think a T Rex would be fun)

Thom Filicia Style

Ok so I mentioned in my last post how much I adored Thom's style: Here are a few of the highlights. Actually there are tons more pics I could have chosen. I love the way he mixes textures and patterns. All of his rooms feel energized and they seem to really reflect the personality of the owner. Enjoy.

Cheap Monday!!

This was my little project for the weekend. I painted an recovered this little bench that I am using as my desk chair for the moment. It was originally my great grandmother's bench and I covered it in a pillow case! It was the perfect size and it coordinated with the other things in my room. Now, however this color scheme wasn't jiving, so I painted it and used a discontinued fabric scrap from work to cover it. I think it came out pretty good. I'm a sucker for a chevron!

P.S. Yes that is a pic of me and Thom Felicia on my desk!! He is my favorite and I met him at a local book signing! He is sooo good!

Happy February!!

It's not snowing or anywhere near snowing here in Florida. My friends and family in OKC are all snowed in. I hope you guys get to do something as fun and glamorous as going to a Zac Posen photo shoot today. Or you could just snuggle up, stay warm, and read blogs. :)
