The hardest thing about designing for me is the finishing touches that make such a big difference. I love the way that these to shots show how to group collections to make small vingnettes. These little details make all the difference.

Cheap Monday!!

I was inspired by President's Day in this little post. I really love federal mirrors. I am using one that I found at the Brooklyn flea market last summer in my living room. They are wonderful little vintage jewelry pieces for the home. In the two pics below they were both painted which would  be a wonderful idea for an inexpenisve find. Please check to see if it is real before you go spray painting it though! Happy President's Day!

Your jewelry collection can make just as big of an impact in your bedroom or dressing area as it does with  your outfits everyday. You hand picked each of your items because they speak to you in a certain way or they were handed down from a family member. To have them all grouped together is rather poetic and definitely very personal. This is a great way to enjoy all of your jewelry even if you don't get to wear them that often.

Cheap Monday

Today's project is a scavenger hunt. Look around your house and see if you have an accumulation of the same sort of object. Most people tend to be drawn to the same thing over and over.  The object could be vintage perfume bottles, or globes, or blue and white pottery.  You could even find different objects but in all of the same color. Once you have found these objects you should display them all in the same place, like a bookshelf or a mantle for instant impact. Look at that you didn't even have to spend a thing!

Table Top Vignette

These are the most tricky things to do in the design industry. It's hard to try to create a wonderful mix of objects that look beautiful together and tell a story of the homeowner. Sometimes they just come out looking like a heap of clutter. I thought these below were done beautifully.

Bar Carts

I think bar carts are so fun and a great thing to do with a little space that you have no idea what to do with, the answer is a bar cart. It creates a little bit of sparkle and is always ready when guests stop over. Just be careful if you have kids... maybe then just fill it with books.

Vintage Books! I found some great vintage books at our public library. Some are only 50 cents to a dollar.  Go check yours out and step up the style of that bookshelf.

Green Day

Happy Earth Day everyone! This is a good day to celebrate nature and life around you so today think about where you get your food, your clothes, and things that fill up your life. Try a local place that you have never stopped into, a boutique, a restaurant, or a grocery. Here are some cool local places I have found in the Orlando area. 

This is Pom Pom's Teahouse she has the BEST sanwhiches...

Sophie and Trey has amazing dresses and accessories as well as some cool vintage furniture...

The farmer's markets in the area have great local vendors as well as local produce and hand made products.....

P.S. Try this with your old lightbulbs! This could be a fun centerpiece or even a decorative vase on your work desk. :)
