Cheap Monday!!

I was looking around the house a few weeks ago and noticed that I don't have a whole lot of Christmas decorations in other rooms in my house besides the living room. I don't have a ton of money to spend sprucing up the bedroom or the guest bath, but I came across these two super cute ideas that would look so chic and pulled together. The garland is made using coffee filters.  The little tree is made from a piece of wood, a few pipe cleaners, and a few old necklaces. So if you need a few little tricks to make the house feel a little more Christmas like before the guests come in a few days,  try these!

Merry Christmas Week!

Design Dilemma - How to camouflage an unwanted soffit.....

This room has an awkward bump out in the wall above the bed. The stripes are a wonderful way to camouflage unwanted architectural details that you may have in your space. You can also try wall paper!! (I love the detail in these stripes. )

Cheap Monday!!

Floating shelves are a great idea to create an entryway that looks pulled together. It also looks like custom built in cabinetry and looks expensive! You can get some great floating shelves at ikea, west elem, and potterybarn.

Happy Friday!!

I'm going to try to get some Christmas decorations out this weekend. I feel like a slacker since both of our neighbors have the Christmas lights up and our house looks like Scrooge lives there.  Hopefully I can get some shopping done too. I think Christmas music and some gingerbread cookies will do the trick. Are you guys as behind as I am??
