My co workers and I threw our friend a wedding shower at our lunch break today. My friend Leela made these beautiful cakes as favors and I made the little veil and added the butterflies. Her wedding is going to be beautiful. Congratulations Liz and Jon!!
I found this little website the other day and have been obsessing how cute these little shoes are. I don't have any kids but I know some little girls that would look adorable in these. The peep toes kill me with those little sausage toes sticking out! Check out the website Joy Folie. Oh and you have to check out the blog too because her photos are adorable.
I've been very busy this weekend. I've been painting, unpacking, and moving things around like a mad woman. I've been asked by a few people for pics of the new house and the closest room to completion is the kitchen so here you go.....
Sorry I've been missing this week. We have moved into our new place! We are just getting organized and I'm running in a million directions right now. As soon as I get a few things settled I'll take some pictures.
The kitchen in our new house is going to have open shelves. I've been thinking a lot about how to make this feature work in our new house. I have come to a few conclusions. A. Thank God we have a big pantry to hide things in. and B. This could look really beautiful. There are just a few rules that I think we should think about.
1. Hide all of the ugly pieces.
2. Try to keep consistent with color.
3. Don't clutter.
4. High contrast or all one color always works.
Ben and I are moving!! Horray!! We found the cutest little bungalow that we are moving into next week. This means a lot of Cheap Monday ideas and updates on how the house is coming together. I'll post one or two pics of the place soon.
Grunge and Glamour....I love that these two pics were of the same era yet so drastically different. I shot the top pic at Alcatraz prison on our San Fran trip and this is a lovely lady from the late 50's.
PS. I love the gold, creme, and the mint green at Alcatraz, kind of a chic color combo for a prison don't you think??
Sorry I have been MIA for the past two weeks. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. I spent the last two weeks on a great North American tour. First Ben and I went to Oklahoma to spend time with my family and then we skipped off to San Francisco for a little celebration vacation. We were celebrating our five year wedding anniversary and the fact that we are both graduated from school!
This has been a wonderful way to start off the New Year!
This is the stunning Christmas Eve table that my Grandmother set. She is absolutely fabulous if you couldn't tell. I think I get all of my fancy from her.
This is the Zam Zam room a wonderful little speak easy from the 1920's.
This was the BEST Chipino in the CASTRO!!
The Redwood Forrest!!
I hope you are having the Cheapest of Mondays! I'll have more pics from the trip later this week. I went to some pretty awesome little shops and an amazing tea room.
